Description

Aquamarine is a charming gemstone with awesome blue to blue-green color and high clarity and vitreous luster. Aquamarine is part of beryl family, and as all beryl gemstones well known for their beauty and their hardness.

Color and Clarity:
This piece is composed of a gemstone that is an aquamarine blue crystal with no enhancements to its color. There are some physical properties that make the structure of the crystal even more attractive and that is the ability of the material to transmit light and enhance the view of inner layers of the crystal.

Crystal Structure:
The aquamarine crystal in this specimen is well-formed, this can be seen from its hexagonal prismatic shape. This makes the end of the crystal natural which also has neat cuts that also contributes to the overall beauty of the crystal.

Mother Rock
Aquamarine is well presented in its ‘‘nest’’; the mother rock adds to the beauty and practicality of the stone.

Color and Texture:
The mother rock in this case provides an opposing color that sets off the deep blue of the aquamarine. The appearance of the texture on the rock sample contributes to the specimen’s attractiveness, which makes it an appealing one.

Origin and Significance
Shigar Mine:
Aquamarine gem stones mine; The Shigar Mine in Gilgit-Baltistan produces some of the world’s best quality gem stones. The quality of the crystals and their impressively large size can be attributed to this region’s geology.

Formation and Rarity:
It was created due to about millions of years of geographical discriminations. Overall, the occurrences of aquamarine with the mother rock are considerably limited and studies regarding the formation of these incredible stones are made easier.
