A Twin Quartz Crystal means two quartz crystals that have fused together can grow in a symmetrical or parallel way sharing a common point. This formation is also called as Twin Formation or Quartz Twins Formation. These crystals to share a bond but are not identical and often times have different angles and symmetrical formations. Types of Twin Quartz Crystals:
1. Contact Twins: Two crystals are touching each other and though overlapping it carries some portion of face of the crystal.
2. Penetration Twins: Here, one crystal seems to be embedded in or maybe growing out of the other, but both are separate pieces of work.
3. JapanLaw Twins: This unique variety of twinning is a result of the contact of two quartz crystals at an angle of nominally ninety degrees but in reality measures approximately eighty-four degrees resulting in the Vshaped formation.
