Hussani Feroza Turquoise
Green turquoise is a naturally occurring variety of turquoise that occurs in color from light green to deep forest green. Blue turquoise is more well known for the gemstone but green turquoise is its own rarity and unique appearence. But the color green is because the concentration of iron in the mineral makeup is higher than the concentration of copper which creates the traditional blue of turquoise.
Characteristics of Green Turquoise:
- Color Range
From pale green to olive thru deep green.
It can be sometimes bluish-green in tint, according to the mineral composition.
2.Matrix Patterns:
The matrix or veining from the host rock is often shown as brown, black, or golden patterns.
They can change the stone’s visual appearance.
3.Formation:
Occurs in arid regions where rock in which percolation of groundwater forms in copper, iron and aluminum.
The green color is due to iron replacing some of the copper in chemical structure.
